How do I download the Canvas app on my phone or tablet?

The Canvas Student app gives you mobile access to your Kirana Colleges course from a compatible phone or tablet.

You can use the app to access course materials, view assessment information, receive announcements and send messages while you are on the go.

Before you begin

You will need:

  • A compatible Apple or Android device
  • An internet connection
  • Your Kirana Colleges Canvas login details
Step 1: Download the Canvas app

Download Canvas by Instructure for your device:

Make sure you download the learner app called Canvas by Instructure.

Step 2: Open the app

Once the app has finished downloading:

  • Open the Canvas app.
  • Select Find My School.

Canvas allows you to locate your account by searching for your institution’s name.

Step 3: Find Kirana Education

When prompted to find your school:

  • Enter Kirana Education in the search field.
  • Select Kirana Education from the search results.

Important: Search for Kirana Education, not Kirana Colleges.

Step 4: Log in

After selecting Kirana Education, you will be directed to the login screen.

  • Enter your Kirana Colleges Canvas login details.
  • Select Log In.
  • Your Canvas dashboard should appear.
Step 5: Access your course

From your Canvas dashboard, you can access available course content and communicate through Canvas.

If you are a new student, you may first see the Canvas Orientation Course. Complete the orientation requirements to help you understand how to navigate Canvas and begin your studies.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find Kirana Education

  • Check that you have entered Kirana Education exactly as shown.

  • If it does not appear, try closing and reopening the app before searching again.

I cannot log in

  • Check that your login details have been entered correctly. If you have forgotten your password, use the password recovery option available on the login screen.

The app is not working correctly

Try the following:

    • Close and reopen the app.
    • Check your internet connection.
    • Update the Canvas app through your device’s app store.
    • Restart your phone or tablet.
    • Uninstall and reinstall the app.
